Experiment: Propagating a mutant conjoint African Violet leaf = FAIL!

One of my very usual looking African violets had an unusual leaf (it was sort of conjoined and looked heart-shaped as a result). I tried propagating the leaf, with the hope of growing baby plants with heart-shaped leaves. As you can see in the photos, it was a total fail, because they are all growing regular non-conjoined leaves.

Have you ever succeeded at growing strange looking babies from a mutant African Violet leaf?
